How To Change a WordPress Website’s Tagline, Favicon and Time Zone



Well, a website’s tagline describes your website/ blog shortly and favicon helps the users to identify your site easily in the browser. Unlike other CMS, it is very easy to change the favicon tagline and timezone in WordPress. This is post will guide you in doing these changes.  You can make these changes directly from your WordPress admin area.

Enter the setting panel:-

Go to settings> general.

In the general settings, you will find the place to enter your tagline, set your timezone and also you can add a favicon to that web page.

In the same general setting page you will find the drop box to select your time zone; country wise or manual offset wise. You can select your country’s time zone and click save changes.

Changing the Favicon of the WordPress Website.

Method 1

Create a favicon file with the name favicon.ico having dimension of 32px X 32px or 16px X 16px or 128px X 128px. Upload that file to the parent directory of your theme and to your sites home directory by using  FTP client or File manager provided by Web Host. Sometimes you may already have a favicon file in the theme folder, replace that.

That’s all, You have added a favicon file for your website.

Method 2

You can also add a favicon by using WordPress plugins. Install the Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator plugin. You don’t have to create a favicon file if you are using this plugin. Because you can create one with the help of this plugin.

You can install that plugin by going to Plugins> Add New in the side menu and searching for Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator and clicking install.

Now go to Appearance>Favicon.  Select the master picture URL (Picture which should be converted into a favicon) and click generate favicon.

It is recommended to use a picture with 260x260px as a master a picture.


You will be redirected to another page. Click generate favicon and HTML code. That’s all Your favicon will be generated and installed.
