If you are a blogger then you have to consider your blog to google webmaster tools and google analytics to your blog. in my last post I write on the topic How to add google analytics to blogger blog. In this post I’m going to explain How to add blogger/blogspot blog to google webmaster tools.

Adding your site to google webmaster tools encourage your blog’s visibility in search engines which means you can get more traffic from search engines. Just follow the simple steps below to add blogger blog to Webmaster Tools.

Add and Verify Blogger Blog to Webmasters Tools

Open Google Webmaster Tools and login with your gmail account. (Recommended to login using the same gmail which you used to create a blog)

  • After that enter your site URL into the text field and click “ADD A SITE” buttonhow-to-add-blogger-blog-to-google-webmasters-tools
  • After click on “ADD A SITE” button you will be redirected to your blog’s webmaster tool page and there you can see a message “Your site has been added to your account.”how-to-add-blogger-blog-to-google-webmasters-tools

Submit Blogger Blog Sitemap to Webmasters Tools

A sitemap is a file where you can list the web pages of your site to tell Google and other search engines about the organization of your site content. Search engine web crawlers like Googlebot, Bingbot read this file to more intelligently crawl your site. Read more about sitemaps…

  • Inside Webmaster tools click Sitemaphow-to-add-blogger-blog-to-google-webmasters-tools
  • Now click on Submit a Sitemap and add the following code inside the box and select “Submit Sitemap”:

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100

Here the Number 100 defines the number of posts your blog have. So if your blog have more than 100 posts then replace the 100 by something bigger than 100. For example if your blog have 350 articles then you have to add a code as below.

atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=500
